Theyo

We at Theyo have specialized in the production and curation of chocolate products made from traceable and transparently traded fine flavor cocoa. Each cacao bean has a unique flavor profile that is influenced by climate, soil and farm management. We love these original flavors and try to bring them out in all our products. No artificial flavors and additives, no frills, but with fair and sustainable supply chains!

Congo

With its magnificent tropical forests, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRK) actually offers perfect conditions for cocoa cultivation. In the first half of the 20th century, cocoa was also produced there under the Belgian colonial rule. After independence in 1960, however, cocoa production collapsed and the focus shifted to other cash crops. In recent years, production there has slowly but steadily increased again. And experts see enormous potential in cocoa cultivation in the DRC, both economically and socially. In a country where political unrest keeps breaking out, it's not uncommon for a family to have to leave their farm. In this case, however, the cocoa trees wait patiently for their return and are always ready to be farmed again.
